Life in Government Relations & Protocol
The Government Relations and Protocol office aims to expand and develop the Kennedy Center’s profile on a national and international scale. The office manages the Center’s external affairs: government relations, protocol, and diplomatic relations, acting as the KC liaison to Capitol Hill, the Administration, the local Washington, DC government and the Diplomatic Community. Internally, the Department of Institutional Affairs collaborates closely with all other KC departments daily to accomplish its main goal of enhancing the Kennedy Center’s role as the national cultural center and living memorial to President John F. Kennedy.
Team Mission
The Government Relations and Protocol department wishes to amplify awareness and knowledge about the Kennedy Center to continue to establish its prominence as the nation’s cultural center and international beacon for the performing arts. Through the development and maintenance of relationships with governmental agencies, both local and beyond, the office wishes to further expand the Kennedy Center’s reach on a large scale.
