Fred Astaire, one of the first Kennedy Center honorees in 1978, is known for dancing, acting, and singing across Broadway, musicals, and television in a career spanning more than 76 years. His legacy lives on today as shown through today’s dance community, as honored by Capitol Tap, District Tap, Knock On Wood Tap Studio, and Friends.
