GRAMMY-winning Countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo began performing professionally at the age of 11 and has since appeared in opera, concert, recital, film, and on Broadway. He is the General Director and President of Opera Philadelphia, and the Artistic Director of SongStudio at Carnegie Hall. He has with appeared many of the world’s most prestigious opera companies and orchestras including the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Opera National de Paris, Teatro Real, New York Philharmonic The Cleveland Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Met Orchestra Chamber Ensemble, Berlin Philharmonic, LA Philharmonic, NDR at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, and the London Symphony Orchestra, among others. He has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Versailles, Madison Square Garden, The Hollywood Bowl, Kabuki-Za Tokyo, The Guggenheim, The Park Avenue Armory, and Little Island. As a producer, he has created projects for The New York Philharmonic, The BBC Proms, WQXR, and St. Ann’s Warehouse among others. Costanzo graduated with honors from Princeton University, and Manhattan School of Music, where he is now on the board of trustees along with being on the board of National Black Theater. A winner of the Met Opera Competition and Operalia, Costanzo also has an Honorary Doctorate from Manhattan School of Music, a History Makers Award from the New York Historical, has been a visiting fellow Oxford University, and a distinguished visiting scholar at Harvard. He has been in a Merchant Ivory film and has a forthcoming book for Farrar, Straus, and Giroux.

Brooklyn-based composer, pianist, and conductor Dan Schlosberg’s music has been performed at Carnegie Hall, (le) poisson rouge, Little Island, and David Lynch’s Festival of Disruption. Current and recent projects include his new musical The Counterfeit Opera (Little Island), which he composed and conducted; a segment of the 10-composer vignette- opera Complications in Sue with a libretto by Michael R. Jackson (Opera Philadelphia); music direction/orchestrations for Fake Friends’ The Last Bimbo of the Apocalypse (The New Group/Signature Theatre); music direction/arrangements for Anthony Roth Costanzo’s solo album Countertenor; music direction/orchestrations for The Marriage of Figaro (Little Island); the original score for Patrick Wang’s film A. Rimbaud; The Extinctionist, a new opera for Heartbeat Opera; music direction/orchestrations for Show/Boat: A River (Target Margin/Skirball); music direction for Anthony Roth Costanzo and Justin Vivian Bond’s Only an Octave Apart; and new orchestrations for The Handmaid’s Tale(Banff Centre). In addition to collaborations with Angel Blue, the Imani Winds, Anthony McGill, Ariana DeBose, Tony Kushner, and Ben Stiller, Dan was the pianist for Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, and a featured soloist in Only an Octave Apart with the New York Philharmonic and NPR’s Tiny Desk. He has received the Charles Ives Scholarship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, two ASCAP Morton Gould Awards, and a 2023 Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Music in a Play. Dan is the Music Director of Heartbeat Opera in New York. His work has been praised as “flat-out brilliant,” “the vision of a master sculptor,” (New York Times) and “ingenious” (Wall Street Journal).
