Millennium Stage

Join us for FREE performances in the Grand Foyer Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 6 p.m. 

1 billion people around the globe and 57 million adult Americans live with disabilities. Their contributions to arts and culture are significant yet are often hidden or unacknowledged. Surrounding the UN Day of the Disabled on December 3rd, the Center allies with and activates the Millennium Stage with performances by artists with disabilities. A limited number of advance reservations are available, but most seats will be available for walk-ups on the day of the performance.

Award winning creative artist, actress and record producer Lachi has been profiled in Forbes, Essence, The New York Times and more for her voice as an Inclusion advocate. From presenting on national stages at the Recording Academy, Adweek, the National Endowment for the Arts, to performing at global disability pride events, to hosting a PBS American Masters segment, to co-chairing a GRAMMY committee, Lachi has gained an international platform on Inclusion in the Music and Entertainment industry.

With show opener Inside My Head with Zak Sandler

Welcome inside Zak's head as he navigates the challenges of his bipolar condition. In this original musical, Zak brings his inner characters to life - Depression, Mania, and Paranoia - as he wrestles with his first manic episode and hospitalization. Based on his true story, Inside My Head is the bipolar version of the movie Inside Out.

José André Montaño is a Bolivian jazz pianist and composer based in Washington, D.C. Widely regarded as one of the great jazz prodigies of today, he taught himself how to play piano from a very young age and his playful and inspired original compositions blend jazz, rock, blues, bossa nova, Latin American folk, and world music. He has performed for audiences at festivals and concert halls around the world, and has been featured by Reuters and the BBC, as well as having previously appeared on Millennium Stage with Jason Moran, the Kennedy Center’s Artistic Director for Jazz.

The Peace Ringers and Carol Ringers under the direction of Tamara Freeman return to the Millennium Stage for an evening of holiday music. Performed on traditional handbells their concert will feature both sacred and secular music.

Ticketing & Entry

For all Millennium Stage performances, a limited number of advance reservations are available on a first come, first served basis. Advance reservations do not guarantee a seat, and patrons are encouraged to arrive early.

Online advance reservations for a given performance date will open on a rolling basis, opening every Wednesday two weeks out from the date.

For live Millennium Stage performances free tickets will also be available at the Hall of States Box Office on the day of the performance, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Seating is first come, first served. Standing room is available behind the seated area as space allows.
