Program

PAPALCA is a Peruvian dance school and cultural organization dedicated to teaching the richness of Peruvian traditional dances, especially Marinera, Festejo, Cajon, Huaylarsh, Valicha, Huayno, and more to children, youth, and families in the United States.

Founded in 2004 with a deep commitment to cultural preservation and community pride, PAPALCA provides a space where rhythm, identity, and joy come together through movement. At the heart of PAPALCA is the meaning behind its name: Pañuelo (handkerchief), Palma (hand clap), and Cajón (Afro-Peruvian drum)—three powerful symbols of Peru’s vibrant dance heritage. Through weekly classes, live performances, cultural showcases, and community events, PAPALCA connects the Peruvian diaspora and the broader multicultural community to the traditions of the Andes, the coast, and Afro-Peruvian roots. Our school not only teaches dance technique, it also inspires pride, discipline, and a sense of belonging. Whether you're a child taking your first Marinera steps, a teenager preparing for a stage debut, or an adult rediscovering your roots through dance, PAPALCA welcomes you to celebrate culture in motion.
