Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi is renowned for his iconic, fantastical scores to Hayao Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli films—along with his sensitive symphonic and solo works.

In this concert, Hisaishi conducts the world premiere of his Concerto for Orchestra, a brand-new NSO commission. The program also features Hisaishis latest concert version of music from the 2023 Golden Globe-winning film The Boy and the Heron.
