Principal Conductor of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra Thomas Wilkins leads a true celebration of American music—opening with the world premiere of Peter Boyer and Joe Sohm’s American Mosaic!

Be uplifted and inspired by this powerful new musical-visual work featuring stunning imagery from across all 50 states. Live narration of powerful quotes and history combine with American orchestral music to celebrate the land, cities, towns, people, and spirit of the United States for its 250th birthday.

Also on the program: Aaron Copland’s iconic ballet Rodeo: Four Dance Episodes along with Copland’s Clarinet Concerto featuring NSO Principal Clarinet Lin Ma.

 

Please note: Due to personal issues Béla Fleck regrettably has to withdraw from his performances with the National Symphony Orchestra on February 19, 21 & 22, 2026. American Mosaic will now feature NSO Principal Clarinet Lin Ma performing Aaron Copland’s Clarinet Concerto. The rest of the program will remain the same.

 

American Mosaic is a co-commission of the National Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for the Cincinnati Pops, Pacific Symphony, Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra, and other orchestras to be announced.
