This year marks the 32nd anniversary of the Kennedy Center/National Symphony Orchestra National Trustees Summer Music Institute (SMI), a four-week festival of orchestral and chamber music for young people ages 15–20 at the Kennedy Center.

Musicians from 19 states, Puerto Rico, and 5 countries are participating in this year’s SMI. The program consists of orchestral and chamber music coached by NSO and Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra musicians; conducting and master classes; private lessons with NSO and KHOCO musicians; a side-by-side rehearsal with the NSO; and enrichment sessions concentrating on music literature, health and wellness, entrepreneurship, and Citizen Artistry.

This performance is the final of five chamber music recitals performed by SMI musicians.

Special thanks to coaches from the National Symphony Orchestra and Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra: Michael Marks and Rachel Young
